I recount a dull day of house sitting.
7:24 p.m. - 2004-01-03


Another day of house sitting. Another day of dull. This is what results in 2 entries in two days.

So, would you like to hear about the (non) events since my last update? Well, of course you would! Why else would you be reading this?

1/3/04: about 1 am:

I entered an online sweepstakes. I watched the first 2 scenes of a movie about werewolves, I guess from the title, though after I saw the model dressed as a peasant fall down a cliff and then be smacked against a rock a few times by a "beast" that I couldn't see, I decided I wasn't in the mood to watch it. So, I watched most of Mulan (skipping over the slow parts), and during the movie, I took out my contacts, washed my face, and brushed and flossed my teeth.

Then, at 2:40 am I realized that the alarm was set for 7:40 am, and I really needed to get to bed or I would regret it terribly tomorrow.

So, I crawled into a bed with the "baby" dog, checked to make sure that I had the alarm set right a few times, read a few pages of a terrible book, and turned off the light.

Sound machine on.

Sound machine off, small fan on HIGH.

Ceiling fan on low. small fan on low.

Sound machine on low.

Climb out of bed to check something (I can't remember what now, but I think it was in the bathroom-- oh yeah, getting tissues because I was feeling clogged up from allergies). Finally realize that I've been laying here forever and still am wide awake.

3:45 am. Turn on light, wander around briefly before realizing there is nothing I want to do, and I can't think of anything that would make me tired. Climb back in bed, toss and turn for another half an hour.

Dose off. Wake up. Dose off. Wake up. Fall completely asleep around 4:30 or so.

ALARM!

SO LOUD! Hit snooze button, and think about getting up. 2 minutes later, realize that it shouldn't still be dark outside if it is 7:40 am. Look at alarm. For some reason, alarm has gone off at 5:10 am (which it was set at previously). Turn off alarm, turn back on. Make sure is set to right time (it still was). Start worrying that alarm won't go off, and will miss app't. Turn on second alarm to go off at 7:42, in case first alarm doesn't go off.

Can't sleep.

Finally, at 6:15 am, get up after less than an hour of sleep total, and watch "fight club" and drink real soda (CAFIENNE!) Alarm goes off at 7:40 am. Is amazingly loud, even in different room than alarm. Brush teeth, go to app't at 8:35 am.

Come back at 9:30 am, change into nightshirt, and go back to bed, after joyous reaction from "baby" at return.

Eventually, fall back asleep. Wake back up a few times. Get up at 2:30, with a few more hours sleep under belt.

Watch some tv, go out to talk with some people about "the issue".

Come back. Miss home. Be bored.
