I suggest an iPod conga line.

Hey there! How you guys doin’?
Well, I’m just going to move right into the main topic here. Today, while surfing Tomato Nation, I actually clicked on a banner ad. I know… stupid stupid stupid! I never do that. But, I was curious. So, I clicked onto this site. About iPods. Do you see where I’m going with this?
Yep. I know. But it looked so legitimate. So, I decided it wouldn’t hurt to register, even if I doubted it was as easy as it seemed. TrustE certified the privacy policy, and so I figured that it probably wouldn’t be super-spam-filled.
I did an offer. They already certified me for it… I could cancel now, but I at least want to give it a shot first. I chose the Blockbuster one, for the record.
Then, because I just don’t think sometimes, then I do some research on the company. Just so you don’t have to also:
This is the wired article.
This is another page that I found about it.
Here’s some tips on how to use this offer best.
Now, I am providing you with all this information, because I genuinely think this is a legitimate operation. However, I do have a bit of a conundrum. People need to be referred by my link for me to get credit. You have to have 5 people who complete an offer under your name to get an iPod, in addition to completing an offer of your own.
As mentioned, I already have credit for my offer. I just have to cancel within 14 days, and I won’t be charged for anything. Also, I get free rentals in the mail! Whee! I read the policy very carefully on the Blockbuster website, and I am very confident that I won’t have to pay anything. So, here is what I’m thinking.
Hopefully, some of my readers have not already registered for this offer (what with all of my readers!). Hopefully, they want an iPod mini/ iPod 20 gig, and would enjoy getting one free. (Perhaps they create a spam mail account with yahoo to use with freeipods, since there have been reports of spamming, and unlike me *cough cough* they would know better than to use a real e-mail account.) They use my link to register. They do an offer. Then, they e-mail me. ( wonderfulchloeNO@SPAMyahoo.com , please remove all caps, they are merely there to hopefully deter any additional spam.) They say, “Hey, Chloe! I used your link to register, please post me to that little webpage of yours, and then I too can reap the benefits by having people register through my name, and then I’ll get an iPod! Whee!”
This is being called a conga line, according to some of the web pages I’ve read. I get five referrals, and remove my link, while leaving the links of people who still need referrals, then when they no longer need referrals, I remove their links and on and on it goes.
So. Let me clarify exactly how to get everything done.
(optional: create e-mail account to use for this promotion. This must be a real account, they do verify e-mail addresses, and this is where you will receive confirmations and such)
1. Click on this link. Or, if you prefer, copy and paste this whole thing: http://www.freeiPods.com/default.aspx?referer=10041675
2. Register. Do one offer. I suggest the Blockbuster thing, although this link (which I’ve previously posted, and this link, too, for even more tips) suggests that some people claim to be being charged a dollar, for reasons unknown. I suspect that if you cancel the offer before actually receiving anything, they may charge some sort of fee. In any case, a dollar ain’t so bad for a $250.00 or $300.00 gadget. Once again, though, this is just speculation, and I doubt that it will happen. I will update this if it does. However, if you are interested in any of the other offers, I’m sure they are good too. See above link for more info.
3. E-mail me (with your referral link, which you can get by going to your "refer friends" page and scrolling down to the bottom. It's in a white box with a gray header that says: "You can also email the following link...", and then send me the link with a nice little message!).
4. I post your link on this here page.
5. People use your link to register (rinse, repeat), you get enough referrals to get an iPod.
6. You e-mail me happily, and I remove your link from the page.
It has been working for other pages, so why not here? Conga conga conga!
Thank you for reading!

For those of you who may not have been aware of this offer before coming to this webpage, let me explain some of the terms.
They will send a free iPod to you if you: Complete one offer, out of about ten that you are presented with (if you don't like any offers, wait a few days and check back. They change). Get five other people to sign up and complete one offer. Most people don't have five people who are willing to sign up for these offers (perhaps because they don't know five people to complete offers, and are afraid they won't get an iPod of their own), so a lot of sites have started conga lines, like the one I'd like to start here. That way, everyone benefits! So, please check it out. And please, use this link to do it.
