I tell this once amusing story of a stupid guy who didn't know about the test that you have to pass!11:35 a.m. - 2002-09-17
I just remembered something funny that happened yesterday. I know, I promised not to bitch about teachers and homework, but this isn't my bitching.
So, yesterday we had a test in Music (its not as easy as it sounds. Although the test itself wasn't difficult, as I studied for it... just very long and involved and time-consuming). The teacher says, "Okay, you can't sit next to each other, so move if you need to." Of course, I didn't know this, so I had to gather up my 30 ton backpack, sling it onto my back, go down one stair, go over 20 feet, and go up the stairs, befor heaving my backpack down on another stupid minidesk. And groaning violently all the way. Or maybe not. But anyway.
So, some guy in the back says, "Why? Do we have a test today?"
She thinks he's joking, but she smiles and says, "Yes!"
He says, "What, was this some kind of pop quiz?" sounding kind of indignant.
She says, "No." In that kind of duh, you doof kinda voice.
He says, "Well, did you give us any warning?" Now mind you, she had brought this up every class session for like, 2 weeks! And not just, "remember, we have a test in [whatever time]" She would say, "so what happens next monday?" And we all would drone back, "the test." She would say, "and what does the test cover?" And we would drone back, "Chapters 1 through 5." And she would say, "And remember, if you fail this test, and get less than an 80%, you have to keep taking it, or else you will fail the class." And I thought, "yes, you've told us this every day for 2 weeks. We know already!" Obviously this guy was really attentive and observant. I'm sure he had been to every class. Yes I am.
So she says, "Uh, YEAH."
And he's like, "Are you sure?" And then kind of to himself, "Oh shit." But obviously loud enough that everyone could hear it, if I could.
Anyway, okay, so it doesn't seem that funny now, to you... but um, trust me, I snickered under my breath for like 20 seconds, whereupon I got the test and completely forgot about it.
Welll... um.... I guess I shall leave you to your infinitely more interesting and amusing other pursuits.
