I go on the campaign trail, because I just can't keep my mouth shut sometimes.

Hey there.
So, with the election right around the corner, and with the polls being as close as they are, I kinda feel like I oughta go ahead and speak my mind. Not that other people haven’t said what I’m sayin’ before. Say, for example: this site (which has a butt-awesome name). Although I don’t really think that john Kerry is a douche bag, but sometimes he does kinda act like one. Of course, Monsieur Bush never does either. Especially not all the time.
Okay, so I think I’ve made my feelings about Bush pretty clear before. To say that I think he is a terrible president would pretty much sum up my opinion. (Although perhaps you could salt it up with a few more expletives.) I don’t appreciate a lot of things that he’s done in the U.S. these four years, and I think that he would make it even worse if he got another four. Did I mention that he want to RENEW The Patriot Act? I don’t want to get into another anti-Bush diatribe, so I’m just going to leave it at that. And since this isn’t a poli-sci paper, I’m not going to cite any sources. Everything that is written as fact, I have seen in newspapers, etc, but I’m not going to go back through everything I’ve read in the past year to cite, because it would be impossible.
Moving on to Kerry. (Incidentally, I really do recommend reading through that first site I linked here. It’s really well done, in my opinion, and it mentions a lot of interesting things that I don’t have the time to talk of here.)
A lot of people don’t really love him. Well neither do I. He’s a politician. I believe he is without a doubt the lesser of two evils. I think he’s gotten a lot of negative publicity for very little reason (I know, this is a presidential campaign, after all). I really don’t care anymore who did or didn’t do in the army back in the day. I’m surprised that "He may not have been as heroic as he claimed" is considered more important and negative than "He pulled strings to keep out of the war, and then went AWOL", but I digress.
He changes his mind, some people cite as a reason not to vote for him. (Once again, please see the first link.) Oh no! I’ve never changed my mind in my entire life, how dare he?! Does everyone remember, 4 long years ago, when we had a president who was also called the waffler? (There were also some more dubious nicknames, but that is irrelevant here). Keeping his private life out of mind, that president was one of the best that we’ve ever had, in my opinion. He listened to what we, the people who lived in his country thought, and sometimes changed his mind! Wow! What an amazing thought! Instead of just bulldozing over everyone who disagrees with you and doing what you want! Kerry, like many Americans, changed his mind about some issues when more information is brought to light. Heaven forbid anyone should ever do that.
Some also claim that they have no idea where he stands on issues. Well, some sites do have issues pages, so you know where the candidates stand on issues. I know he doesn’t always describe things in a way that can be condensed into a ten second sound-bite. I actually think that’s a positive, because (in my mind) the reason he doesn’t is because he sees issues as complicated and multi-dimensional. Issues are complex and have many facets. That is just the sort of thing that I want in a president.
There is so much more that I want to say, but I just don’t have time to say it. Just keep in mind one more thing: Does Bush have such groovy campaign pins? I think not.
